✅ Before Possession Day Checklist (For Sellers)

🗓 1–2 Weeks Before Possession

• ☐ Book movers or a moving truck (maybe do this 3-4 weeks out)

• ☐ Notify utility providers of your move-out date

• ☐ Cancel or transfer services for possession date (internet, cable, alarm, water delivery, etc.)

• ☐ Forward your mail through Canada Post

• ☐ Update your address with banks, government ID, subscriptions, etc.

• ☐ Begin deep cleaning the home — or book professional cleaners

• ☐ Gather manuals, warranties, and receipts for appliances, systems, and repairs

• ☐ Remove and dispose of anything not included in the sale

🧰 A Few Days Before Possession

• ☐ Clean the home thoroughly (floors, bathrooms, appliances, windows, etc.)

• ☐ Mow the lawn or shovel snow (weather dependent)

• ☐ Empty fridge, freezer, and pantry

• ☐ Remove garbage and recycling

• ☐ Leave out keys, remotes, and garage openers

• ☐ Label anything that helps the buyer (breaker panel, water shut-off, etc.)

• ☐ Do a final walk-through to ensure nothing is left behind

🚪 On Possession Day

• ☐ Vacate the property by the agreed time

• ☐ Leave thermostat at a comfortable temperature

• ☐ Lock all doors and windows

• ☐ Leave a note or welcome folder if you’re feeling extra kind 😊

• ☐ Text or call your REALTOR® once you're out — they’ll handle the rest!
